

On February 17, 2006 a wild winter storm packing winds of some 80 mph tore through the Lake George region, ripping branches from trees, tearing giant pines up by their roots, leaving thousandswithout power and many with damaged roofs, porches and homes. Few, however, suffered the damage that we incurred. Two trees from our backyard neighbor slammed into our summer camp crushing it beyond repair.
We replaced the wrecked camp with a trailer as a temporary residence until we could make plans to rebuild...after four nights there, a thunderstorm ripped through the area, uprooting yet another tree from the same neighbor, which crushed a wall of the trailer, tearing a hole in the bedroom wall.

The next step was to build a new camp...a two and one-half car garage with an one-bedroom apartment above it.
